NOTICE TO BIDDERS

 BOROUGH OF CLEMENTON

CAMDEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Clementon, Camden County, New Jersey, for:

COLLECTION AND TRANSPORTATION FOR DISPOSAL OF ALL SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLABLES WITHIN THE BOROUGH OF CLEMENTON, PURSUANT TO UNIFORM BID SPECIFICATIONS, SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS COLLECTION SERVICE, DATED OCTOBER 10, 2017.

The successful bidder shall commence work on February 1, 2018

Bid form, contract, plans and specifications are on file and may be examined at the office of the Clementon Borough Clerk, Municipal Building, 101 Gibbsboro Road, Clementon, New Jersey 08021.

Said bids shall be received, opened, and read aloud in public at the Municipal Building, 101 Gibbsboro Road, Clementon, New Jersey, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Local Time.  All bids must be received at the office of the Clementon Borough Clerk, either delivered in person or by mail, on or before December 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

Prospective bidders may obtain a copy of the uniform specifications and contract from the Clementon Borough Clerk, Municipal Building, 101 Gibbsboro Road, Clementon, New Jersey.

The borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids, either in whole or in part, and also to waive any informality in any bid or bids so received.

Bids must be made on the bid form prepared on behalf of the Borough of Clementon in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, and must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside, and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon.  Said bids will be addressed to Jenai L. Johnson, Clerk, Borough of Clementon, Municipal Building, 101 Gibbsboro Road, Clementon, New Jersey 08021.

Each bid must be accompanied by a guaranty payable to the “Borough of Clementon” that if the contract or agreement is awarded to the bidder, it will enter into a contract therefor, and will furnish any performance bond or other security required as a guaranty or indemnification.  The guaranty shall be in the amount of 10 percent of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000, and may be given at the option of the bidder by certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond.  Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid letter from an approved surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey, agreeing to furnish a performance bond for 100 percent of the contract amount in the event the contract is awarded to the bidder.

The award of the contract shall be made subject to the availability to the Borough of Clementon of the funds necessary for the performance of the work.  The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that the contract shall not become effective until the necessary funds have been provided by the Borough of Clementon in a lawful manner.  The contract award shall also be subject to the securing of any necessary state, federal, or local permits governing the work.  Bidders shall be required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, c. 127, and P.L. 1963, c. 150.

The contractor is further notified that he must comply with P.L. 1977, c. 33, and submit a stockholder’s disclosure statement with his bid.

There are fees associated with paying your bill online. If you pay by ACH or e-check, there is a $1.05 convenience fee. If you pay by Visa debit card, there is a $3.95 convenience fee. The fee for all other debit and credit card payments will be approximately 2.95% of your total bill.

No fees are collected by the Borough of Clementon.

 

 

 

CLEMENTON OEM SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

Clementon Office of Emergency Management is seeking Volunteers to join their Emergency Management Team

If you have experience, or skills in any of the following: Call Center, Medical (Dr -Active/Retired), Casework/Social Services, Medical (EMT), CERT, Children (Formal Training), Medical (LPN/CNA/RN), CPR, Critical Incident Stress Mgmt., Medical (Other), Communications, Moving Disabled or Elderly, Computer Literate, Office Clerical, Red Cross, Construction, Pastoral Care, Search & Rescue, Donations Distribution, Personnel Management, Shelter Operations, First Responder Trained, Transportation, Ham Radio, Food Services, Vet Tech, GMRS Radio, Heavy Lifting (>30 lbs.), Veterinarian, Laborer, Volunteer Management, Logistical Support, we could utilize you on our team.

Volunteering with the Clementon OEM does require some regular involvement and commitment. Involvement may vary from a couple hours a month to as many hours as you are willing to put in.

Training will be provided by the Clementon OEM. Some training will need to be accomplished during normal business hours and some courses may be offered outside of the Municipality. Most of the training courses are offered online and may be accomplished at your convenience. Licenses and certifications may need to be completed by applicants prior to assignment to some positions.

Volunteer positions provide no compensation. It may be possible during Presidential Declared Disasters to reimburse for mileage. When called out for actual emergencies or disasters or while participating in training and exercise events, volunteers will be covered for Liability and Accidental insurance by the Borough of Clementon.

The OEM Volunteer will be representing the municipality. Dress and appearance must be presentable. Honest, helpful, friendly and courteous attitudes to other volunteers and the public are a must. Background checks may be completed on volunteers.

The Clementon OEM reserves the right to deny acceptance of any volunteer if staff positions are already filled, if the application is not fully completed correctly and truthfully, if a background check verifies any criminal history or if the volunteer is not qualified to fill the positions requested or if improper behavior is demonstrated.
